The Whisper H40 is rated at 900 Watts @ 28 mph. As the pictures below shows, our group had to perform every step. First the tower was assembled using the tower kit provided from Southwest Wind Power. The pipe is schedule 40, and the kit contains all of the hardware and precut guy wires. While there are many options available we used arrowhead anchors for this tower. A jackhammer was used to drive the anchors into the ground at a 45 degree angle. The anchors were set and tested using a small pickup truck. In places where the soil was weak more than one anchor was used.

The picture below shows our group using a winch to pull the gin pole and raise this 80 foot tower. Some of the group held tension on the guy wires opposite of the winch by holding onto a rope, and walking in as the tower was raised. Other members of our group operated the winch and watched the tower and guy wires for problems.

Once the tower is raised final adjustments are made to the guy wires to level the tower. All of the guy wires should have a little bit of slack in the line to allow for movement. The gin pole can be removed and stored after the installation is complete.
